The First in Certified Hybrid Battery Conditioning

Hybrid battery conditioning is a revolutionary new service that mirrors the advancements taking place in the hybrid electric vehicle industry. As technology constantly evolves, so do our revolutionary services. Hybrid vehicles bring many benefits to their owners, but as with any vehicle, time and use take their toll and we see deterioration of the battery, power and gas mileage.

The Hybrid Shop customers can now enjoy an exclusive technology (only found at Wilhelm Automotive) created by Dr. Mark Quarto and the team at Automotive Research and Design that can restore your used hybrid battery to over 95% of its original, new performance. Learn more about the history of this process by watching our video:

What exactly is battery conditioning? It all begins with the NiMH (nickel–metal hydride battery) battery pack from the vehicle. Specialized THS equipment is connected to the battery pack to perform two categories of tests; The Power Test and the Energy Test. Data is then collected by the equipment controller for analysis and diagnostics. After the data has been collected and analyzed, the battery modules are “cycled” to increase the capacity and power of the modules. The charge of each battery module is completely discharged and then brought back up to full capacity. This is called cycling and is performed at least twice before the battery is completely “conditioned”. In exchange, most NiMH battery modules can be improved to 92-95% of their original state during this process. Watch as Dr. Mark Quarto explains the process in detail and the equipment required in this video:

How do you know if battery conditioning is right for your hybrid vehicle? Well, first you should take a look at its current performance compared to when you first bought your vehicle. If you find that your vehicle is performing sluggish or slower than when it was new or you are losing fuel efficiency, it may be time to have your hybrid battery checked. The Hybrid Shop is the ONLY shop in Arizona to offer this affordable alternative replacing your hybrid battery!
